The Appleton man accused of killing his mother now has a $1 million bond.
Bradley Boettcher was in Winnebago County court for the first time this morning, on a charge of first-degree intentional homicide. He’s accused of beating Lee Ann Dorn to death in their apartment on Valley Road on the city’s south side last February.
Boettcher was arrested the next day in Kentucky for driving drunk with his mother’s car. Investigators say Boettcher has a history of mental health issues, and they think he was heading to the Pentagon.
He was officially charged with his mother’s murder earlier this month. He was supposed to make his first court appearance last week, but he refused to leave his cell at the Outagamie County jail.
