It will be all about the hamburger in Seymour tomorrow.
The city is holding Burger Fest to celebrate the “Home of the Hamburger.”
John Steltz portrays “Hamburger Charlie” at the annual event. He says Charlie Nagreen invented the burger on the Outagamie County Fairgrounds in 1885, while he was selling meatballs. He says people weren’t stopping while they were walking around, so he flattened his meatballs and put them between two pieces of bread.
Burger Fest will feature a nearly 200 pound hamburger, ketchup slide, and a hot air balloon rally. Things get started on Depot Street, in downtown Seymour, at 8 a.m. tomorrow.
