The fountain in Shattuck Park in downtown Neenah could become a splash pad next spring.
Parks and Recreation Director Michael Kading says some people are basically using it like a splash pad now, and much of the fountain isn’t working properly.
The city is looking to hire a consultant to create a design and put together a cost estimate. That same company worked on the city’s new splash pad at Washington Park.
The city council will take up the design contract tomorrow.
Kading hopes to start construction in March of next year, and open the splash pad in May.
