MY THREE SONGS
|
Every weekday at 2pm, Elwood will play three songs. Figure out the common theme of the three songs, call in on the Rock Lines, and you win!
The prizes change from week to week, so you'll have to tune in to find out what you can win. Or you can check the "On-Air Contests" page on the above menu.
Some tips on playing along:
* Pay attention to Title and Artist. The themes are almost always based on the artist, song title, or album title. Themes will never be based on the lyrics of a song, so you don't have to worry about knowing all the words or listening for a particular line in the song.
* Album titles only matter if Elwood says the album title. When Elwood mentions that a Pearl Jam song is from the album, "Ten," it probably means that the theme has something to do with the number ten. If the album title isn't mentioned, don't worry about it.
* Listen for "category" songs. Elwood uses TV Dinners by ZZ Top when the theme has something to do with television. He uses the Rush album "Moving Pictures" when the theme has something to do with movies. When you hear these, you can almost always focus your guesses into those categories.
* Pay attention to other callers' guesses. Use others' guesses to see if you're wrong before you call in... or to help you get closer to the answer. You don't want to waste a call to repeat someone else's incorrect guess.
And if you're looking for the My Three Songs "theme song" - it's called "The Battle Without Honor or Humanity" by Tomoyasu Hotei. You can purchase it from the Rockin' Apple iTunes Store with this link. |
