With Karla's love of music, people, and conversation, going into radio seemed to be a perfect fit. She started by spinning vinyl (yes...vinyl) and managing the UW Fox Valley College radio station. After helping 'The Baron' with a demo tape to give to The Rockin' Apple...he was hired. Then, Karla was hired, and despite trying, hasn't been able to stay away for very long since! When asked to describe herself, she said 'I'm a punk with a major in philosophy.'
Karla appreciates any music that is pure and passionate. 'There's a major difference between people who just sing and play instruments and true artists.' She's seen over 150 concerts including Ozzy, AC/DC, The Clash, Pearl Jam, The Ramones, Neil Young, Iggy Pop, Prince, Godsmack, and more. Karla lost her virginity at 13 (that's concert virginity you dirty minded bastard) to The Motor City Madman Ted Nugent. 'I guess all of the pieces are coming together' she says.
